Chicks Prepare To Be Falcons

With the Super Falcons of Nigeria destined to again compete in the
Women's World Cup [China 2007], the Pepsi Football Academy is focused
on the younger generation, to try and groom able successors ready to step
into the shoes of the likes of  Ifeanyi Chiejine [a former Pepsil Academy student], Perpetua Nkwocha, Cynthia Uwak, Kikelomo Ajayi etc.

At the outset of the Pepsi Chicks 5-a-side National Tournament 2006, lain Nelson, Pepsi Academy Consultant stated:-
"Pepsi is certain that some outstanding female football stars will be discovered towards ensuring Nigeria's continued dominance on the African continent and the nations impact on the world stage."

Mr. Nelson further recollected how Pepsi had been instrumental to the successful development of female football in Nigeria as he recalled the time when he was the Chairman of the NFA's Female Football Development Project Team.

The three day Pepsi Chicks tournament, held at the UNILAG Sports Complex, featured Pepsi Football Academy teams from Aba, Owerri, Kaduna, Sagamu and Lagos, along with invitees, the Oge Belles of Lagos.

At the end of hostilities, Pepsi Academy Lagos 1 emerged champions, beating the Pepsi Academy Aba 3-1 in the final.
