


| Pepsi U-18 International Tournament Holds in Abeokuta |

As Nigerians continue to bask in the euphoria of the FIFA U-17 World Cup won by the Golden Eaglets in South Korea, Pepsi has begun the search for a new set of youngsters who will do Nigeria proud again when the country hosts the U-17 World Cup in 2009.
The tournament, which is an annual initiative of Pepsi and the Pepsi Football Academy, will hold this year at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, Ogun State. Director of the Pepsi Football Academy, Kasimawo Laloko, stated that this year's tournament will involve visiting teams from: - The Republic of Benin [Dragon Youth Academy] - Ghana [Liberty Professionals] - Cote d'Ivoire [Centre de Formation] - Togo [Liberty Academy, Agbodrafo] - The Bolowotan Football Academy, Ikorodu, Lagos along with teams representing the Pepsi Football Academy will also compete. He also disclosed that the Pepsi Football Academy had organised an in-house competition aimed at selecting the teams that would fly the academy's flag at the tournament. "You can be assured that we have chosen crack teams that will do the academy proud at our International Tournament." This will be the 5th in the series of such tournaments to be organised and hosted by Pepsi and the Pepsi Football Academy. September 2007 |
