Mexico 2011….The Hunt Begins

The best of youth football was displayed at the weekend with the youngsters of the Pepsi Football Academy, from all parts of the federation, displaying their skills during the finals of the 2009 Pepsi Festival of Youth.

The event, held at the Football College, Orile-Imo, featured the Pepsi Academies, from across the country, competing in both the U-13 and U-15 age categories.

Paul Nsofor [no relation of Obinna Nsofor of the Super Eagles] of the PFA Lagos, Ifeanyi Ani [PFA Abuja], Sikiru Mohammed Salihu [PFA Kaduna] were some of the relevations in the U- 13 category.

The U-15 final match between PFA North 1 and PFA East 2 produced the best of youth football.
This match ended 4-4 and was settled via penalties with East 2 winning by 8-7.
Again, many potential future stars were noted, including Victor Eze, Ngerene Goodluck,  Johnson Atoh, Shonubi Mayowi and Peter Promise.

An elated Iain Nelson, PFA consultant, said that the competition really helped to highlight those talented youngsters who could be representing Nigeria in the next FIFA U-17 World Cup, Mexico 2011.
